I just wanted to have my say about something that’s really been bothering me. I am sick and tired of hearing liberals bad-mouth and question the wisdom of our president.

Yesterday I started thinking about the true patriots in American history. People like Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Everybody agrees that they were real patriots. Yet you didn’t see them saying bad things about their government or questioning the decisions of their king, now did you? They didn’t go around saying that the king was doing things they didn’t agree with. No, they were real patriots. They just shut up and let the government do what it wanted to.

No, wait a minute. They did disagree with the policies of their government and said so loud and clear. They even went to war against them. But if they were patriots for standing up against their government and questioning its leaders, why is acting like them considered traitorous by conservatives?

And, wait a minute. It just dawned on me that most of the people who are now saying that it is traitorous to say bad things about the president and question his decisions are the very same people who hated Bill Clinton, said very bad things about him and questioned everything he did long before Monica Lewinsky came along. Now I’m really confused. It sounds like they’re hypocrites with one set of rules for themselves and another for everyone else.

Well jeez, never mind then.
