I am writing to express my disappointment in how the city of Auburn has treated its employees.
First, the city officials went back on a negotiated contract with our firemen. Now they are unwilling to give the police a fair contract.
Without fair treatment and decent pay, the city could stand to lose the good individuals who make Auburn a safe place to reside. I feel the local administration, the mayor and the city council in Auburn have let the citizens down and are not keeping the constituents’ best interests in mind.
Officials need to start serving those people they were elected or hired to represent. I question the judgment used in spending local tax dollars. I would much rather put money on the firemen, police and into our education system rather than spend it on an art display or a parking garage.
