1909 – 2003

LEWISTON – Leroy Andrew Sennett, 94, of 18 Cottage Road, Auburn, died peacefully in his sleep at Central Maine Medical Center after a long battle with lung cancer.

Born in Turner May 14, 1909, the eldest son of Tom and Daisy (Benson) Sennett. He attended Turner schools and high school at Leavitt Institute.

He was employed as a shoemaker, working in the local shops of Lewiston and Auburn and did side work as a carpenter. He was married on Christmas Eve 1930 to Martha Berry, which lasted a glorious 73 years.

He was drafted into the armed services in 1942 and served to the fall of 1945. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, with much interest in archery and model airplanes.

Survivors include his wife, Martha of Auburn; one brother, Lincoln and his wife Grace of Lewiston; one sister, Bertha Jackman of Auburn; and many nieces nephews. He was much loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

He was predeceased by his parents; two sister, Nellie Starbird Thompson; and Ruth Merrill Smith.
