DIXFIELD – Swasey-Torrey Unit 100, American Legion, met recently beginning with a joint meeting with Post 100.

Committees for 2003-2004 were announced by President Connie Tutlis as follows: Audit, Charlene Wing and Nila Martineau; Americanism, Connie Tutlis; by-laws, Jeannette Knox and Betty Kerr; children and youth, June Merchant; community service, Connie Tutlis; finance, Jeannette Brown, Dorothy Bennett and Sandra Kerr; veteran’s affairs, Phyllis Prue; publicity, Connie Tutlis; and poppies, Jeannette Knox.

Officers elected and installed for this year are: president, Connie Tutlis; first vice, Karen Walsh; second vice, Sandra Martin; secretary, Charlene Wing; treasurer, Betty Wing; chaplain, June Merchant; historian, Phyllis Prue; and sergeant-at-arms, Nila Martineau.

Community service this year will include helping with beano at the Victorian Villa in Canton on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.

The next auxiliary meeting will be Sunday, Aug. 10, preceded by a cookout at 4:30 p.m. with Post 100. The regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Call Connie at 364-4189 for details.
