1911 – 2003
NOrway – Ethel Mae Bonney, 92, of Norway died Saturday evening, Aug. 9, at the Norway Rehabilitation and Living Center.
She was born in Brownville Junction June 29, 1911, the daughter of Frank and Carolyn Harvey, and she attended schools in Brownville Junction.
She had been a homemaker and later worked at Porteous and Beaconway Fabrics in Portland.
She was a member of the Elm Street Methodist Church in South Portland and sang in the choir. She and her husband George traveled the country mining rocks and were members of the Coastal Maine Mineral Club in Portland and the Western Maine Mineral Club in Oxford.
She made her home in Norway for the last 25 years, moving from Portland.
Survivors include her husband of 72 years, George of Norway; a daughter, Marilyn and and her husband Philip Lejonhud of Norway; five grandchildren, Andrea Powers, Barry A., Carl E. and Dana P. Lejonhud, and Martina Levesque; six great-grandchildren, Jason and Arica Powers, Nicole, Zachary and Ian Lejonhud, and Miranda Levesque; one step great-grandson, Jess Miller; and nephews, Marvin and Bobby Curtis.
