1925 – 2003

LEWISTON – Carl August Gustavson Jr., 78, of Damy Street, Auburn, passed away on Aug. 10, at Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born on April 7, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Carl and Mildred (Peterson) Gustavson Sr. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy as a Quarter Master in World War II.

Throughout his career, he worked as a sales manager of building products. He was also past master of Masonic Lodge 269 during his 50-year membership in Wheaton, Ill.

He is founder of the Maine Support Group of Myasthenia Gravis in which he has dedicated his last years of life to help others afflicted with this disease.

He is survived by his children, Charles and Richard Gustavson and Karen Lyman; sister, Elaine Ewbank; and seven grandchildren.
