ERROL, N.H. – Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a free day of fishing education this weekend in conjunction with the 100th birthday bash of the National Wildlife Refuge System.

Pre-registration is required for Take Me Fishing Day, which runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Lake Umbagog’s Potter Farm. The farm is 4.9 miles from downtown Errol on Route 26 East. Turn left onto Mountain Pond Road and follow the signs.

Lake Umbagog NWR and New Hampshire Fish and Game will provide day fishing licenses and the use of fishing equipment (fishing rods, fly rods, boats and tackle). Canoes, kayaks, paddles and life jackets will be available for demonstrational purposes for participants.
