1928 – 2003
LEWISTON – Eleanor L. Lagasse, 75, of Beacon Street passed away, Aug. 13, at the Central Maine Medical Center with her loving and devoted family by her side.
She was born in Auburn, April 3, 1928, the daughter of Wilfred and Beatrice (Reynolds) Berube. She attended Auburn schools. In 1946 she married her beloved husband, Albert Legasse.
For many years she worked in the Shapiro Shoe Mill and the Libbey mill. She was a member of St. Joseph’s church and enjoyed reading, puzzles, entertaining family and friends, cooking, baking and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Claire T. Landry and her husband Normand of Derry, NH., Diane J. Caldwell and husband Edward of Auburn, and Susan G. Cottle and husband Jeff of Durham; one son, Ronald Lagasse of Flint, Mich.; six grandchildren, Doreen, Susan, Michelle, Karla, Chad and Todd; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Berube of Las Vegas, Nev., and Norman Berube of Lewiston.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Lagasse; two brothers, Wilfred Jr. Berube, Francis Berube; and three sisters, Gloria Warryaze, Claire Jeffcoat, Germain LeBlond.
