Auburn Mayor Guay needs to get over himself. He was treated the same as any other John Q. Public would have been treated.

Let’s see if this sounds about right: Officer stops a car with expired tags. When he asks the driver for his license, registration and proof of insurance he detected the smell of beer on the drivers breath or other evidence of drinking. He asked the driver to take a field sobriety test, which he failed. The driver claimed to have problems with his feet so the officer asked him to come to the station for a breath test. The driver was taken for the test, which he passed. He was taken home after the test.

If any officer had not done the same with anyone else he would have been reprimanded, but because he followed proper procedure with the mayor, he is being accused of doing it out of revenge.

The excessive media hype over this matter has only given Mr. Guay more attention then he really needs. It also gives the impression that he should be treated better then the people who elected him and pay his salary.
