RUMFORD – The SAD 43 Board of Directors will appoint teachers, accept resignations and hear about student assessments when they meet Monday.

Gloria Jenkins, the district’s curriculum coordinator, said she will report on the recent changes made by the state Department of Education on the requirements to graduate. She will review the Maine Educational Assessment tests and other assessment tools.

Jenkins also said that several teaching positions will be filled, including high school Spanish, middle school grade six and high school physical science. Nearly all positions are filled with only two math specialists, one special education and a family literacy coordinator still open.

The board will also appoint a voting delegate and alternate to the annual Maine School Boards Association annual delegate assembly to hear reports, and take comments from the public.
