WESTBROOK – The Maine Safety Council is offering the following classes in August:
• Forklift Certification for Variable Reach Trucks and Scissors Lifts, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the MSC Office in Westbrook. Cost is $150 for MSC members
• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and Automated External Defibrillator training, 8 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Maine Motor Transport office in Augusta. Cost is $50 for MSC members
The Maine Safety Council is a not-for-profit organization based in Westbrook. It is a leading resource for health and safety training in the workplace.

Steele named as strength coach
LEWISTON – Dr. Clint Steele was recently named the strength and conditioning coach for the Lewiston Maineiacs of the Quebec Junior Hockey League.
The Maineiacs, consisting of high school players between the ages of 16 and 20, will be competing this year at the newly renovated Central Maine Civic Center.
Steele holds a doctorate in chiropractic medicine, is fully certified as a strength and conditioning specialist and has a private practice in Lewiston. He is president and developer of Better Hockey and Top Dog Total Hockey development. He has trained and lectured throughout the United States training hockey players from his Learn to Skate Program through professionals from the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia.
