RANGELEY – The Rangeley Blueberry Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Rangeley Inn on Main Street. The event supports the Rangeley Recreation Boosters Club of the Rangeley Lakes Regional School and the school’s athletic and academic clubs.
Crafts and art exhibitors will have displays starting at 10 a.m. with “every kind of thing you can imagine,” said Patty Kolva, chairwoman of the event. The event will feature sausages, hot dogs and hamburgers from the Friends of the Rangeley Library; pies, muffins and other yummy desserts from Catholic Ladies Auxiliary; blueberries from the Rangeley Girl Scout Troop; and pies by Betty Millberry. “They will be gone before noon,” Kolva said.
At 2 p.m. the annual Frog and Toad Jumping Contest will be held and everyone who participates will receive a prize. Kolva reminded participants this event “is bring your own jumper, and all frogs and toads are to be released after the contest.”
In case of rain Thursday, the event will be the Rangeley Lakes Regional School.
