1912 – 2003

LEWISTON – Antoinette A. Briggs, 90, formerly of 1211 Sabattus St. died Thursday, Aug. 21, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

Born on Aug. 24, 1912, in Val Brillant, P.Q., Canada, a daughter of Horace and Alexina Sylvester Lizotte. She attended Lewiston schools and had been a resident of Lewiston all her life.

Mrs. Briggs was married to Frederick Briggs who died June 1, 1963. She worked at F.W. Woolworth and later worked in the former Clark Shoe Co. in Auburn for 20 years.

Mrs. Briggs was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul’s Parish. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Glendon (Lorraine) Curtis of Lewiston; three sons, Robert Lessard of Lewiston, Ronald Lessard of Hartford, Richard Briggs and his wife Monique of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Rolande Lacombe in 1999.
