1934 – 2003

BRIDGTON – Carlene Elizabeth Keene Stewart, 69, of North Bridgton, died Thursday, Aug. 21, at Bridgton Health Care Center.

She was born in Lewiston, on May 28, 1934, a daughter of Elton C. and Elizabeth O. Keene. She graduated from Bridgton Academy in 1952 and from Farmington State Teachers College in 1956.

Mrs. Stewart was a Home Economics Teacher at Unity High School from 1956-1959. She married David Warren Stewart on June 19, 1959. He died on June 3, 1999.

She was a member of the North Bridgton Congregational Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Women’s Fellowship, the North Bridgton Community Club, North Bridgton Historical Society and the Pondicherry Chapter 192, Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with family.

She is survived by two daughters, Heather E. Stewart of North Bridgton, and Carrie E. Skeffington of South Portland; a son, Toby C. Stewart of Essex Junction, Vt.; a brother, George A.C. Keene of Bridgton; and five grandchildren.
