BRIDGTON – A Western Maine quilt documentation will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Narramissic, the historic Peabody Fitch Farm in South Bridgton.

Cindy Black and Wendy Canton Reed, quilt historians and chairwomen of the Maine Quilt Heritage, will document the quilts. Each person may bring up to three quilts to be examined, identified and the history recorded. Quilts will be photographed and a tag sewn on that will permanently identify the quilt in the state archives.

There is no charge, but donations will be accepted to cover expenses. The service is offered courtesy of the Pine Tree Quilters Guild of Maine.

In addition, a silver tea and textile exhibit will take place on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 23 and 24, at Narramissic. The farm is operated by the Bridgton Historical Society and is located in South Bridgton on Ingalls Road, off Route 107. Call 647-9954 for more information. Entry fee for the exhibit and tea is $5 for adults;, $2, children under 12; 5 and under, free.
