WALES – Police are investigating a weekend theft from a Leeds Junction Road business in which three rare all-terrain vehicles were stolen.

Investigators say the ATVs stolen from Reggie’s Kawasaki are unique in this state. The combined value of the machines is estimated at $17,000.

Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department officials say the theft occurred late Saturday night and was discovered Sunday morning.

Taken in the heist were two Kawasaki KFX 700 Baja type ATVs, one bright orange and the other green. The third stolen machine was an orange Bombadier DS650.

Because the machines are considered unusual in this state, police are hoping someone who spots one or all of the ATVs may help lead investigators to the thieves.

Police said they also found some evidence at the scene of the crime. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the ATVs or about the people responsible for the thefts is asked to contact Detective William Gagne at 1-800-492-0737 or 784-7361.
