LEWISTON – St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center and the Maine chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society will host a program on MS research on Thursday, Aug. 28.

“An evening with Dr. Coyle: MS Research and Communicating with Your Doctor” will examine current MS research and suggest possible strategies for MS patients. Dr. Patricia Coyle, a professor of neurology, will speak at 6:15 p.m. in Lepage Conference Center at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Coyle has been treating people with MS since 1978 and has been director of the Stony Brook MS Comprehensive Care Center in New York since 1990.

She is involved in research aimed at understanding the effects of MS on the body and has participated in many clinical drug trials. She also is on the editorial boards of several neurology journals. Coyle is often a featured speaker at both patient and professional meetings, providing up-to-date information on MS.
