1925 – 2003

Lewiston – Louis M. Payeur, 77, formerly of 315 Pleasant St., Lewiston, died Thursday, Aug. 21, at Marshwood Health Care Center.

Born in North Stratford, N.H. Nov. 24, 1925, a son of Adelard and Clare Rooney Payeur. He attended Island Pond, Vt. schools, and graduated from Brighton High School in 1946.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Parish and Lewiston Senior Citizens.

He worked in bridge and building construction for the Canadian National Railroad, retiring in 1985 following 43 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, the former Antoinette Legasse of Lewiston, whom he married in June of 1968 in Lewiston; a sister, Gertrude Payeur of Island Pond, Vt.; and a nephew, Robert Payeur and his wife Sharon of Waterford, Vt.

He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Payeur; and two brothers, Leo and William Payeur.
