OXFORD – The Oxford County Farm Service Agency has announced that area farmers who have experienced losses may be eligible for benefits.
Livestock producers who suffered grazing losses in either 2001 or 2002 are eligible for benefits through Oct. 24.
The agency has also announced that due to the price decline for barley and oats, farmers who grow these crops may qualify for a cash payment to help make up the difference between the crop’s market price and the price floor established by the FSA commodity loan program.
Any farmer who thinks he qualifies for any assistance should contact the agency at 743-5789 or go to the office at 1570 Main St., Suite 10, in Oxford.
