WATERFORD – The recent World’s Fair held two days of horseshoe tournaments sponsored by Melby’s Market and Eatery in North Waterford.

The singles tournament drew 40 players from five states on July 26. Results were: first, Cliff Williams of Jay; second, Jason Cass of Durham; third, Wayne Bailey of Hope Valley, R.I.; fourth, Wally Hamlin of Waterford; and fifth, Seldon Brown of Leeds.

The doubles tournament on July 27 drew 42 players. First, Steve York of Freeport and Scott Allen of New Gloucester; second, Vic Ritchie of Auburn and Nate Allen of Freeport; third, Scott Cyr of Auburn and Steve Estes of Waterford; fourth, Al Pratt of Harrison and Richard Jacques of Gorham; and fifth, Wayne Bailey of Hope Valley, R.I., and Phil Shapleigh of Raymond.
