Wilton officers Terry Warren and James Black responded to a report of two men fighting Friday, police Chief James Parker said

When officers arrived, Edward Tibbetts, 23, was allegedly sitting on top of another man and hitting him, Parker said. Tibbetts also allegedly bit a woman during the scuffle, he said.

Tibbetts was arrested and charged with two counts of assault. He was taken to Franklin County jail. Tibbetts posted $200 cash bail and was released Saturday. He is scheduled to appear Sept. 25 in Farmington District Court.
