LIVERMORE FALLS – Proposed revisions to the SAD 36 Student Transportation Services policy could make the upcoming school year a bit easier for parents, as well as students.

The present policy allows students to be dropped off only at their original pickup point, making no allowances for day-care arrangements.

Superintendent Terry Despres said the proposed revision would allow for an alternate drop-off designation for the year. Such requests must be made in writing.

A second provision would allow for changing designated pickup and drop-off points. Requests for such changes must be made in writing with at least a three-day notice, Despres said.

A third change covers emergency situations and those will be handled by administrative action, he said.

It is anticipated the proposed revisions will be discussed by the board when it meets at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Cedar Street office.
