NORWAY – If all proceeds as planned, Aubuchon Hardware will be moving about mile south on Main Street to the Swan Supply Inc. building.

Greg Moran, Aubuchon real estate development, said Wednesday that an offer has been made for the building and he expected the transaction to be completed within 30 days.

“We’re sorry to be leaving downtown Main Street, but we’re very excited about the proposed relocation,” Moran said.

The current Aubuchon building has 4,700 square feet of retail space. He said Swan Supply has approximately 6,700 square feet in retail space.

He also said customers will see a slightly wider selection of goods at the new location.

Even though the closing may happen in September, it would be several months before a move could take place.

The hardware company is a family-owned business that began in Massachusetts in 1908 and is run by the fourth generation of the Aubuchon family.

They have 137 stores throughout New England and upstate New York.

The corporate office is in Westminster, Mass.

Swan’s Supply was also a family-owned hardware business that operated in Norway for 39 years.

Swan liquidated its inventory in June and closed.
