ABINGTON, Mass. – Louise F. (Fournier) Schmuck, 78, died Sunday, Aug. 24, at her home, after a brief illness.
She was born in Chisholm, the daughter of Louie and Yvette LeBel, and attended Mont Merici in Waterville and graduated from Livermore Falls High School. She also attended Boston School of Fashion and Design. As a younger woman she was a fashion designer and fashion illustrator and later became a homemaker.
She was a charter member of Abington Art Association, a member of Cultural Council for a number of years. She was an avid artist with numerous exhibits throughout the South Shore. She loved her family, politics, Cape Cod vacations, annual family reunions and travel.
She is survived by her husband, Erwin “Smokie” Schmuck of Abington; three sons, Peter M. Schmuck of Ft. Mitchell, Ky., Thomas Schmuck of Bridgewater, Eric Schmuck of E. Bridgewater; daughters, Elise Burden of Bridgewater and Johanna Kasulis of E. Bridgewater; one brother, Philip Fournier of Gilford, N.H.; two sisters, Suzanne Hedrick of Nobleboro, and Rachel Hamel of Manchester, N.H.; 12 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was predeceased by a brother, Maurice Fournier of Jay.
