Reception planning

AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 of Auburn will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 1, at the Odd Fellows Hall, 50 Elm St., for a short business meeting to finalize plans for the reception for Mercena Abrams, district deputy president, and her marshal, Margaret Sjostrom, which will take place on Sept. 14.

Seniors program

NEW GLOUCESTER – The Remember When Senior Citizens will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 2 at Amvets Hall at 11 a.m. Lunch will be potluck. Mary Murphy will entertain with music.

The club met on Aug. 5 at Hodgman’s for a picnic lunch with hot dogs, salads and frozen custard with strawberries.

AUBURN – First Auburn Seniors will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at the American Legion Hall, Washington Street. The board of directors will meet at 10. There will be a raffle table, a bag lunch and bingo.

Payments will be due for the Balsams trip on Oct. 13, and tickets can be purchased for the Sept. 17 beans and franks meal.

Members met with the New Auburn Seniors for the annual cookout at the Tot Lot on Aug. 20. The food was prepared and served by the Auburn Recreation Department Bingo was played after dessert.

Bridge winners

LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Aug. 25 were: N/S, first, Anna Vitiello and Randy Silver; second, Betty and Doug Sise; third, Lue Bilodeau and Roger Briggs; second in B, Claire Tewhey and Charles Bartlett.

E/W, first, Bob Berry and Ed Oldham; second, Judy Agnew and Hilda Monk; third/fourth tie, Marlene and Conrad Violette with Cynthia Bonsey and Shirley Small.

Games are played at 9 a.m. every Monday, a mini-lesson is given and a partner is guaranteed. There will be no game on Labor Day.

Intermediate classes begin at 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Lewiston Adult Ed.

Legion session

LISBON FALLS – Nelson-Conley American Legion Post 66 will hold a meeting at the Slovak Association Meeting Room, Avery Street, on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. All eligible veterans are invited to attend.
