CHESTERVILLE – Fifty members and guests attended the Wilton Academy Alumni 2003 reunion recently at Harnden Hall in North Chesterville. After a time of socializing, a potluck supper was enjoyed.
President Thayden Farrington conducted a meeting. The secretary-treasurer’s reports were approved and greetings were read from Shirley Smith Lothrop and Mary Mooar Brougham, class of 1949, and Maurice Whitten, former science teacher at the qcademy.
It was voted to retain the same officers and to meet at the same location in August 2004. Following the meeting, music was provided by Stan and Robin Harnden, Dawn Smith and Rich Marriner.
The following alumni members have passed away during the past year: Virginia Miller, Barbara Jackson, Nina Burnham Byron, Lillian Tobin Cobb, Vinton Partridge, Jack Osgood, Alice Grant Marble, Ilene Gilbert Smith, Bernice Feeney Kenney, Harold Durrell, Margaret Cox Lilja and Virginia Blanchard York.
Glenys Mayo Raymond, class of 1924, was the oldest present. Attending from out of the area were Roy and Shirley (Hammond) Pike of Jenks, Okla.; Phil and Norma Trask, New Madison, Ohio; Robert and Shirleen (Adams) Dolder, Bedford, N.H.; Betty Riggin, Portland; Phil and Shirley Raymond, Rockwood; Frank and Shirley Randall, Richmond; Carl and Lorna Small, Hartford; Walter and Sandra (Kilkenny) Hammond, Rumford; Becky (Pike) Partridge, Monmouth; Chester Wing, New Vineyard; and new local attendees: Don Allen, Eric and Donna (Adams) Cunliffe, Wilton; and Carroll and Patty Kilkenny, Jay.
