OXFORD – His Place Teen Center will hold a yard sale beginning early Thursday, Aug. 28, through Monday, Sept. 1, on Route 26, next to the Fish Market at Abattoir Bridge. The sale will include appliances, furniture and many more items.

Donations of items clean and in good condition are appreciated. They may be left on the porch of the Teen Center at 254 Webber Brook Road. Items may be collected by calling 743-9503 or 743-7322.

Volunteers to help with the sale are needed.

Commons concert

NORWAY – The Commons Music Collective will present Kate Schrock & Friends in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, at Fare Share Commons, 447 Main St. Admission is $10 at the door. Seating is limited. Schrock is a Maine native and self-taught pianist, singer and songwriter who has shared the stage with Stephen Stills and Taj Mahal. Yard sale

PARIS – The Paris Cape Historical Society will hold its annual yard sale from 9 a.m. to

2:30 p.m., at the society’s building on Route 26 just outside of Market Square.

The sale will raise money to maintain the museum and new storage shed. The society needs donations of tools, books, toys, small household furniture, sports equipment, and small appliances that are clean and in good condition. Items may be left at the museum Friday, Aug. 29.

Members will be available to receive and tag donations. Please do not leave non-proceed items such as clothes, tires, or dirty items. Any volunteer assistance with donations and sales will be greatly appreciated.

BUCKFIELD – A community parade to include bikes will be held as part of planned Labor Day festivities beginning at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 1, in the town. A men’s pie sale will be held. Apple pies will be included. The Zadoc Long Free Library will continue its book sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, through Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1, from 2 to 8 p.m., at the library.

Agriculture education

OXFORD – The Oxford County Soil and Water Conservation District has announced it will hold a Agriculture Education Day from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Oxford County Fairgrounds. This event is free to any public or private school in Oxford County and involves presentations on the grounds where students in kindergarten through grade 12 can learn about natural resources. There will be many activities relating to local history, agriculture, animal and plant growth, and more. Students will join scavenger hunts and other activities. Crafters wanted

NORWAY – The Stone-Smart Post and Unit 82 American Legion is searching for crafters for the legion’s fall festival craft fair. Included will be a flea market and food sale.
