1923 – 2003

BRIDGTON – Madeline Alice Corcoran, 80, formerly of Yarmouth, died Thursday, Aug. 28, at the Bridgton Hospital.

Born in Cape Elizabeth, July 12, 1923, a daughter of Harry Dustin Carleton and Alice Mary Carleton Robinson, she attended Gorham schools and married Francis Earl Corcoran, Sr. on April 4, 1942.

She worked at the South Portland Shipyard during World War II as a Class A welder. She also worked at Burnham and Morrill Bean Factory and as a waitress for many years. She also managed to have six children.

She had resided with Michael and Marla for the past two years, with Marla being her constant companion and caregiver.

Survivors include her daughter, Lynda Maloney of East Haven, Vt.; four sons, Dennis Corcoran and wife, Marcia of Florida, Steven Corcoran and wife, Myat of Naples, Michael Corcoran and wife, Marla of Bridgton and Francis Corcoran, Jr. and wife, Sue of Windham; 19 wonderful grandchildren; and 27 wonderful great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Corcoran is predeceased by her daughter, Debra in 1978; her husband “Bully” in 1979; and sisters, Amber, Francis and Henrietta.
