1922 – 2003

BINGHAM – Rowena Evelyn (Goff) Giberson, 81, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 28, at her home in Bingham.

She was born March 27, 1922, in Moscow the daughter of Donald and Gladys (Baker) Goff. She was a graduate of Bingham High School class of 1939 and Central Maine General Hospital School of Nursing receiving her certificate as a Registered Nurse in 1942.

She married G. Stanton Giberson June 18, 1942 in San Francisco, Calif. Following World War II she and her husband returned to Bingham where they owned and operated Giberson Funeral Home for the next 40 years.

She was a communicant of St. Peters Catholic Church in Bingham, a member of St. Peters Altar Guild, St. Peters Choir, the Stanley Beane Post 99 American Legion Auxiliary, the Bingham Grange, and the Bingham Century Club. Her husband, G. Stanton Giberson died previously.

She is survived by her children, Gerald H. Giberson and his wife Jean of Topsham, Jean L. (Giberson) Wolf and her husband Bob of Nashua, N.H., and Gregory A. Giberson and his wife Ellen of Bingham; her grandchildren, Michael A. Giberson and his wife Charity of West Gardiner, Michelle L. (Giberson) Gallant and her husband Brent of Brunswick, Jonathan R. Wolf of Shrewsbury, Mass., Natalie J. Wolf of Amherst, N.H., Dustin A. Giberson of Boston, Mass., Mellory E. Giberson of Durham, N.H., Tyler A. Giberson and Brandon E. Giberson both of Bingham; great-grandchildren, Kayla M. Giberson, Ashley J. Giberson, Kaitlyn M. Gallant, Michael A. Giberson II and Drew J. Gallant; her sister, Geneva M.Gordon and her husband Douglas and Allen B. Goff of Bingham; several nieces and nephews.
