The Sun Journal editorial on Aug. 27 was particularly upsetting.

John Geoghan, a former priest, was put in prison for something he chose to do to a bunch of kids and the judicial system does a poor job when it comes to convicting perverts that abuse children.

He would’ve been released even though he was accused of molesting 150 children. He definitely got what he deserves and then some.

People that abuse children do not get enough punishment and should be prosecuted for first degree murder because that is basically what they do the child’s body and soul.

I wish the state and nation would worry more about protecting the people who have already been put through hell than the criminals responsible.

If they are so worried, maybe they should take the money that they are sending overseas to help foreigners and build separate prisons for less serious crimes. Murders and molesters could be left to turn on each other and get a taste of their own medicine.

Someone needs to realize how rough it is for normal people.
