Human resource group elects officers for year
AUBURN – The Central Maine Human Resource Association elected new officers recently. They are: Jackie Little, president; Nancy Lavoie, vice president; Celine Jannarone, treasurer; and Michelle Lefebvre, secretary.
Little, benefits specialist with the Lewiston School Department, has been an association member for several years and served as secretary from 2001-2003. Her experience with the school department includes managing health insurance, dental insurance and retirement plans.
Lavoie, employee relations specialist with Geiger, provides advice, guidance and assistance to employees at all levels of the organization in matters relating to benefits, interpretation of company policies and employment law, complaint resolution and performance issues, supervisory training and the development and analysis of job descriptions. Lavoie also serves as the Geiger Outdoor Activity Learning Center facilitator.
Jannarone is director of human resources for Falcon Shoe Mfg. Co. in Lewiston. She has been employed by Falcon Shoe for three years and previously worked as a Workers’ Compensation claims adjuster for local insurance agencies.
Lefebvre, corporate training coordinator with Central Maine Community College, works with businesses to help assess training needs, create custom training programs and locate training grant resources. She also serves on the boards of Empower Lewiston and the Auburn Business Development Corp.
“The new officers are very excited and have already started planning for the upcoming membership year. We are researching several ways to increase membership benefits and look forward to a new year of dynamic meetings and presentations,” said Little.
The association is a nonprofit group made up of human resource professionals from central Maine. It provides professional development opportunities for members through monthly meetings and special workshops focused on current issues.
To become a member or for more information, visit or contact Little at 795-4100, extension 206. The association will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the new Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Auburn. Members will learn about the new Dirigo Health Plan from State Sen. Peggy Rotundo.
