AUGUSTA – David Dennett of the Kennebec Historical Society and Mark L. Johnston, president and CEO of Kennebec Savings Bank, announce that a historical tour of “Homes Around Lake Cobbosseecontee” is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14. Proceeds will go to the Kennebec Historical Society.

The tour will feature eight old homes, as well as the Augusta Country Club and the YMCA Camp of Maine, all located either off the Pond Road on the east side of the lake, or off the South Road on the west side.

Houses on the tour include Rockledge, owned by Thomas and Jodi Federle; the McCarthy House, owned by Charles and Lucie McCarthy; Keewaydin, owned by Chris and Patty Marston; the Sampson House, owned by Marc and Paula Lacasse; the Hopkins House, owned by Charles and Sally Robinson; the Lorentzen/Omark House, owned by Leif Lorentzen and Karina Omark; the Gannett Cottage, owned by Dan and Priscilla Stevens; and the cottage at 56 Heritage Woods Lane, owned by Mark and Kathy Smith.

Advance tickets for the tour are available at all Kennebec Savings Bank locations, the Kennebec Historical Society and Longfellow’s Greenhouse in Manchester. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for senior citizens in advance. Quantities are limited.
