1955 – 2003

MILO – Shirley Carrier, 48, of Dover-Foxcroft, wife of Richard L. Carrier, died in a boating accident on the Sebec River, Aug. 30.

She was born Feb 1, 1955, in Bangor, the daughter of Robert C. and Sonja G. (Renz) Merrick. A graduate from Central High School in Corinth, she had worked for many years in the accounting departments at Guilford Industries, and more recently at Pride Manufacturing.

She enjoyed basket making, was an avid gardener, and an excellent cook. She loved all outdoor activities, especially water sports and skiing. She will be sadly missed by her family, and many dear friends.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of Dover-Foxcroft; her mother, Sonja Bernier of Bangor; her parents-in-law, Carmen and Larry Carrier of Lewiston; two sisters, Evelyn and her husband Bob Martin of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rosemarie and her husband Glen Roberts of Ebeeme Lake; three nephews, Todd Martin, Jason and Kyle Rand; and the following brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Carmen Carrier of Sabattus, Bob and Debbie Carrier of Lewiston, Mark and Susan Carrier of Lewiston, Janice and Dick Morin of Dover, N.H., and Rachel and Gerry Brady of Scarborough.

She was predeceased by her only child, Joshua Nutt, in December, 2002.
