Fund-raiser

LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne Post 9150, VFW, and Auxiliary will hold the annual high school scholarship fund-raiser on Monday, Sept. 8, at Shaw’s Supermarket on East Avenue. Post members will accept donations and will sell raffle tickets on a TV or $200.

Names accepted

LEWISTON – Members of the L/A Veterans Council will be at Shaw’s Supermarket on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and Thursday, Sept. 25, to give applications to those interested in placing a name on the stone memorials in Veterans Memorial Park.

The persons must have served or be serving in the military. The council needs a copy of the discharge and a check for $25.

Rosary Sodality

LEWISTON – The Rosary Sodality of St. Patrick’s Church will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, for recitation of the Rosary in the chapel. A meeting will follow in Msgr. Gleason Hall when officers will be installed.

Line dancing

AUBURN – Temple Shalom will offer beginner/intermediate level line dancing from 10 to 11:15 a.m. beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The ongoing class costs $3 (each class). The instructor is Marjorie Perkins of Brunswick.

Line dancing is a non-strenuous dance activity. It helps posture, circulation and balance while giving self-confidence and rhythm. No partner is needed.
