I was in awe to read about how many motorcycles are not inspected. (Aug. 24)
If 7,000 bikers are not inspected that is about $70,000 lost in state funds.
If those 7,000 bikers were caught, the fines would be about $560,000, if the fines were $88.
That is huge amount of lost revenue and could be cured very quickly by having the state inspection stickers attached to the state license plate.
The state could also make it a law that proof of inspection as well as proof of insurance is necessary to get a motorcycle registered in the state of Maine.
