LEWISTON – Todd C. Severson, an emergency physician, has been named to the Central Maine Medical Center medical staff. He has joined the CMMC Emergency Department.
Severson recently completed residency training through the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Stanford University in Stanford, Calif., and earned his medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland. As a medical student he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. In 1999 he was presented the Humanism in Medicine Award by the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey.
Prior to beginning medical school, he worked for five years as a senior engineer at Proctor & Gamble in Cincinnati.
The CMMC Emergency Department mdical staff includes 25 emergency physicians who provide services not only at CMMC, but also at Rumford and Bridgton hospitals and Parkview Adventist Medical Center in Brunswick.
Workplace safety workshop set
AUGUSTA – Safety Works! a program of the Maine Department of Labor, will present an introduction to workplace safety and health on Sept. 16 and 17 in Hallowell.
The course gives basic information about workplace safety and health, including an overview of several of the most common OSHA regulations. Topics include personal protective equipment, machine guarding, chemical safety, electrical safety and others. The class is intended for people new to the field of workplace safety and health. Those who complete the course receive OSHA 10-hour course completion cards for general industry.
