YORK – Linnie Clara Grass, 90, formerly of South Portland, died Friday, Sept. 5, in York.

She was born in Fairfield, on Nov. 14, 1912, a daughter of William and Edith Burke Morrissette. She attended Fairfield schools. Mrs. Grass moved to Portland in 1959.

She was a member of the Women’s Council at St. John the Evangelist Church, a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a volunteer at Mercy Hospital, and was a 41-year member of the St. John’s Bowling League. She was a former member of the Daughter’s of Isabella.

Mrs. Grass was formerly a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in South Portland and most recently a communicant of St. Christopher’s in York.

She is survived by two daughters, Dawn Glenn and her husband Thomas of Gloucester, Mass., and Linda Grass of York; one son, William E. Grass and his wife Barbara of McAllen, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest R. Grass.
