1946 – 2003

GREENE – Mr. Hollis R. Batron, 57, of 21 Cox Lane in Greene died early Thursday morning Sept. 4th at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Greene, Aug. 4, 1946 a son of Morton and Fay (Denbow) Batron. He was educated in local schools, graduated from Lewiston High School and remained a lifelong resident of this area.

He was a military veteran having served his country in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Mr. Batron worked as a crane operator, first spending 27 years employed at Cianbro Corp. and later working several years for Union Local 4. He was a life member of the VFW Post #11032 in Greene and also was a member of Ashlar Lodge #105 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Auburn.

He leaves a daughter, Kellie Ridley and her husband, Roland, of Lisbon; a son, Ken and his wife, Jenn, of Exeter; 6 grandchildren, Ashley, Haley and Nicholas Ridley and Robert, Katherine, and Rebecca Batron; his former wife, Janis (Punteri) Batron; his mother, Fay M. Farris of Greene; a sister, Brenda McKissick; 5 brothers, A. David Batron, Harland, Milton, George and Sherwood Farris; and special friend, Gladys Smith.

He was predeceased by his father, Morton; his stepfather, Guy H. Farris; a sister, Corrine Jones; and brothers, Durrell and Wade Batron and Philip Farris.
