It gets so tiresome listening to the Bush administration talk about how their tax cuts helped so many people. The way Bush explains it, if he had $100 to give to 10 taxpayers and he gives nine of them a dime and the last one $99.10 that means they got an average of $10 each so nobody benefited unfairly.

Simply adjust the numbers to reflect real taxes and the cuts people got and you see how some, the rich, benefited more. The GOP also likes to ignore the fact that income over $80,000 is not subject to social security tax. I’ll bet that a family making $30,000 feels the effect far more than the family making $200,000, who pay no payroll tax on $120,000 of it.

It was so pathetic to hear a caller to C-span who lost his job praising this administration for giving him $400 when he could really use it. Wouldn’t a job be a lot better? That’s something the Bush administration seems unable to stimulate. The wealthy don’t spend the extra money as the lower income workers would.
