PORTLAND – The Maine International Trade Center is offering a practical seminar for Maine business professionals interested in limiting trade risk and selecting optimum payment methods for export sales. The seminar, titled International Terms of Sale & Payment, will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25.
Topics include: methods of payment, receivables and insurance, evaluating the financial stability of overseas clients, and an introduction of Incoterms 2000. The seminar features a panel: Joe Mooney, Citizens Bank; John Lavelle, Export-Import Bank of the U.S.; and Susan Bell, Albatrans, Inc. The workshop concludes with a question and answer session, followed by a networking reception.
This one-day seminar is part of the International Trade Education Series underwritten by Citizens Bank Foundation and will be held at the MITC office at 511 Congress St. in Portland. Cost to attend is $65 for MITC members and $80 for nonmembers. Van Wie joins Land and Water
HALLOWELL – New Gloucester resident David A. Van Wie has joined Land and Water Associates, Inc. of Hallowell as a principal and co-owner.
Kathy Eickenberg has become a principal and co-owner.
Founded in 1987, Land and Water Associates provides specialized consulting services in environmental management, natural resource planning, dispute resolution, and creative collaborative solutions to controversial environmental issues.
Van Wie brings over 20 years of experience in public policy, environmental management systems, environmental mediation, and environmental auditing in both the private and public sector.
He was most recently director of the Bureau of Land and Water Quality at Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
Kathy Eickenberg has been at Land and Water Associates for more than 12 years and has nearly 30 years experience in water resource management, land use planning, collaborative decision-making and communications.
