BIDDEFORD – Laraine Berticelli, of Pearl Avenue, Old Orchard Beach and formerly of Lewiston, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, at Southern Maine Medical Center.

Born in Biddeford, she was the daughter of Ernest and Lena Tremblay Levasseur.

Throughout her life she enjoyed many activities. During the big band era, she sang with Buddy Rich on the Old Orchard Beach Pier and with other various bands in the area. When she and her husband Albert, moved to Lewiston, she continued to be in the spotlight as she modeled at various fashion shows and card parties.

She was actively involved in many charity events for the March of Dimes and was a member of the Patronesses of St. Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of Matindale Country Club, where she enjoyed golfing and many social events. Her biggest joy in her life was her family, being involved in their life and supporting them during all of their milestones and accomplishments gave her great happiness. Her unconditional love and acceptance was felt by not only her family, but all who knew her. She will be remembered for her love of life and her amazing attitude towards it.

Mrs. Berticelli was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church in Old Orchard Beach.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Albert J. Berticelli of Old Orchard Beach; her daughter, Nancy J. Rodrigue and her husband, Roch of Saco; her daughter-in-law, Cinda Berticelli of Virginia Beach, Va.; one brother, Roland Levasseur of Biddeford; her niece, Janet Nadeau of Saco; four grandchildren, Stacey Rodrigue Jordan, Michael Rodrigue, Nino Berticelli and Anthony Berticelli; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Jordan and Michael Jordan II; and several nieces and nephews

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Michael A. Berticelli on Jan. 25, 2000; one brother and two sisters, Joseph Levasseur, Antoinette Valliere and Muriel Beauchesne.
