JAY – Police said they removed an “unruly” female student from the Middle School Tuesday after she allegedly was out of control and threatened peers. Besides facing criminal charges, the girl was suspended from school for 10 days. The girl was charged with criminal threatening and failure to submit to arrest, police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

She was conditionally released to an adult, the chief said.

The girl allegedly verbally threatened people and, when school staff detained her, she became physical toward school personnel, White said.

White and Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier responded to the school to handle the incident.

Jay School Superintendent Robert Wall said Principal Scott Albert handled the incident according to school policy and suspended the student.

“The situation was handled extremely well by school personnel and the assistance of Jay police who were extremely supportive to resolve the situation,” Wall said.
