FARMINGTON – Two women’s support groups and the ongoing men’s group are being offered this fall by Sexual Assault Victims Emergency Services.

The Women’s Empowerment Group will meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays starting Sept. 30. This group will explore topics like what it means to be a woman, developing safe physical and emotional boundaries, self-soothing and trust. It is designed for women who are survivors of sexual assault, sexual abuse or domestic violence.

Creative Recovery for Women: A Writers Group for Survivors will meet at 6 p.m. Mondays starting Sept. 15.

The women’s groups will be facilitated by Aimee DesRoches.

The Men’s Survivors Support Group has been meeting on Fridays for more than four years and is facilitated by Jarad Platt. The Men’s Group will be open for new members.
