AUGUSTA – Senior Spectrum, an organization that provides an array of options for independent living, invites the public to tune into its September Mature Lifestyle cable television program.
Two featured guests associated with the Alzheimer’s Association will focus on how to arm against Alzheimer’s disease. The association is the largest national voluntary health organization dedicated to conquering Alzheimer’s disease.
Alzheimer’s is a progressive, degenerative disease of the brain in which cells die and are not replaced. It results in impaired memory, thinking and behavior, affecting the ability to perform routine activity and, eventually, to live independently.
Special guests Eleanor Goldberg, Maine Alzheimer’s Association executive director, and Dr. Laurel Coleman, a geriatric specialist and board member of the national association, will address the treatment of Alzheimer’s and research for prevention and cures.
The program is a live studio talk show hosted by Libby Mitchell, former speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, and produced by Senior Spectrum and Adelphia Network 9. It is broadcast three times each week. The show may be seen at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, 8:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays, reaching a viewing audience in the greater Augusta/Waterville and Lewiston/Auburn areas.
The public can call 1-800-639-1553 for details or visit www.seniorspectrum.com.
