1962 – 2003
PORTLAND – Crystal A. Carignan, 41, of Rangeley, died Thursday morning, Sept. 11, at Maine Medical Center.
Born in Farmington, July 9, 1962, a daughter of Theodore and Angel (Gibbs) Huntoon, she was married to James Carignan in Rangeley on Aug. 22, 1987.
She attended schools in Phillips and graduated from Mount Abram High School in 1980. For 10 years she worked at the post office in Rangeley until her appointment as postmaster in Stratton last year.
She enjoyed her work, making people smile and being around her family. She loved her cats, especially “Ming”. She liked to read books and go shopping.
In addition to her parents of Madrid and her husband of 16 years, she is survived by a son, Travis; a daughter, Katrina; a brother, Allan Huntoon and his wife, Monica of Madrid; a grandmother, Lillian Gibbs of Phillips; a mother-in-law, Muriel Carignan of Rangeley; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Margaret Fitzmorris and her husband, Rolph of Yarmouth and Linda Brackett and her husband John, of Shirley, Mass.
She was predeceased by a brother, Miles Huntoon.
