PARIS – SAD 17 Adult Education is offering a 10-week course designed to help small businesses create a strategic plan.

Independent accounting consultant Janice Devlin Bolduc will teach the class.

The course, Business Plan Basics, was developed by the Oxford Hills Business Development Network, a group of 11 nonprofit and private businesses. This group offers many resources helpful or necessary to business.

Some of the topics presented include planning, research, marketing, money management, financial statements and managing growth.

Adult Education Director Judy Green said that through the course small businesses have a chance to network.

“A lot of people want to start a business, but they really need help in writing the business plan,” Green said. “This course will help them with the startup and management of a small business.”

She said the course would be a boon to those thinking of starting a businesses, who will need a business plan if applying for financing.

“It’s exciting because we are offering the course in conjunction with the consortium. They provide support,” Green said.

The course will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday beginning Sept. 22. The course costs $85, plus $45 materials fee.
