AUBURN – Mike Foster will be installed as new postmaster of Auburn at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the Auburn Post Office.
The oath of office will be administered by Elizabeth Johnson, district manager, Customer Service and Sales for the U.S. Postal Service, District of Maine.
Foster began his postal career 24 years ago as a city letter carrier in Biddeford and Portland. Since that time, he has also served as a customer service supervisor at Gorham, a labor relations specialist for the district office, and most recently as postmaster at Kittery.
Foster is responsible for 74 other employees handling the mail for 1,178 post office box holders, 8,742 deliveries on the city routes and 2,330 deliveries on the rural routes of Auburn.
The new postmaster says his personal goal for the Auburn office is to bring a strong sense of pride and professionalism to the office, and to create a more efficient, safe and customer-friendly workplace.
