SACO – With 7:04 left in the fourth quarter, Kevin Spelling sealed Brunswick’s victory with an interception and raced 17 yards for a touchdown, propelling the Dragon’s to a 27-14 Class A football win over Thorton Academy Tuesday.

Ralph Mimms had 29-yard touchdown in the first quarter and followed with a 16-yard TD early in the fourth.

Devon Shepard scored a touchdown on a 10-yard run and the point-after the was made good by Darren Gauthier.

Waterville 1, Mt. Blue 1

FARMINGTON – Waterville and Mt. Blue played to a 1-1 tie in a Class A boys’ soccer game Tuesday.

Mt. Blue’s Zack Frechette scored the only goal for the Cougars, while Mika Plaisted punched in Waterville’s goal on an assist by Shawn Lawler.

Ben Prenpiss collected eight saves for the Cougars.

Mt. Abram 2, Carrabec 1

NORTH ANSON – With five minutes left in the second half, Mt. Abram’s Sam Witherspoon and Frank Hayes both scored, leading Mt. Abram a 2-1 victory over Carrabec in a boys’ soccer game Tuesday afternoon.

Carrabec’s Ben Shaw scored the lone goal midway through the first half and goalkeeper John Gretien fended off 10 shots.
