1932 – 2003

LIVERMORE FALLS – Russell K. Brackett, 71, a resident of Vine Street, Livermore Falls, died suddenly Wednesday, Sept. 17, at his home.

He was born in Farmington on June 4, 1932, the son of Robert N. and Agnes N. Masterman Brackett. He was a graduate of Jay High School. He served four years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Hawaii.

On April 12, 1958 he married Janice Stinchfield of Rumford. “Russ” worked for International Paper Co., Androscoggin Mill in Jay as a woodroom operator, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of the Quarter Century Club of IP and the Maine Rovers Camping Association. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of Livermore Falls; a daughter and her husband, Wanda and Wallace Fish II of Leeds; a son and his wife, Keith and Elaine Brackett of Standish; five brothers, Robert and his companion Lydia Hoffman of Monmouth, Richard and his wife Connie of Auburn, Clifford and his wife Mary Ellen of Florida, Arthur and his wife Penny of Farmington and Malcolm of East Winthrop; a sister, Harriet Mayo of Farmington; two grandchildren, Nicole Fish and Justin Brackett; stepgrandchildren, Kristine Fish and Anthony Hight; and a close friend, Rebecca Mercier of Lewiston.
