1911 – 2003
OXFORD – Martha B. Sennett, 92, of Cottage St., Auburn, passed away peacefully in her sleep Monday, Sept. 15, at the home of her nephew in Oxford.
She was born in Auburn on Feb. 20, 1911, the daughter of Albert and Lena Berry. She attended Auburn schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1930.
Her marriage to Leroy Sennett in the same year lasted a glorious 72 years.
Through her life she was employed as an office secretary and manager in various shoe companies retiring finally from Auburn Motor Sales in 1972.
Among friends she will best be remembered for her excellent cooking and her handy work in crocheting and knitting. She acted as a den mother for the local Campfire Girls for a number of years and was a member of the East Auburn Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Edith Patterson of Gardiner; and many nieces, nephews from around the country.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and 10 siblings.
